Autophagy

WG2 - Glycan dependent modulation of autophagy, endocytosis and lysosomal functions: cancer, lysosomal disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.
Objectives

Discussion and exchange of knowledge and know-how between INNOGLY participants will be focused on the role of glycans in the modulation of autophagy pathways.

  • Promote the investigation of the role of glycans in the modulation of autophagy, endocytosis and lysosomal functions in cancer.
  • Promote the investigation of the role of glycans in the modulation of autophagy, endocytosis and lysosomal functions in lysosomal disorders.
  • Promote the investigation of the role of glycans in the modulation of autophagy, endocytosis and lysosomal functions in neurodegenerative diseases.
Tasks
  • Employ advanced techniques to track the glycosylation pattern of glycoconjugates associated to autophagy, endocytosis and lysosomal functions.
  • Promote the identification of relevant model systems to investigate the glycan dependent modulation of autophagy, endocytosis and lysosomal functions.
  • Boost the development of modulators of autophagy, endocytosis and lysosomal functions (nanometric, small molecules and glycoconjugates).
